Hi, I'm Caliph.
I inspire educators to remember their power to impact lives and live their lives to the fullest.
I still remember by Kinder-3rd grade teacher, "Cat", and the impact she had on my life.
I also remember the teachers that missed the signs as I struggled at school because of what was happening at home and in my head and heart.
What I know for sure, is that my educational experience shaped me--for better and for worse. The truth is, that while some people missed the signs, those teachers that saw the promise in me helped me overcome the challenges I faced and propelled me to college, which transformed my life.
I know how much school matters. And I know the truth of En Loco Parentis, and the opportunity our educational system has to develop students into great citizens and even better people.
As a speaker, I help educators remember the importance of their role in the educational ecosystem and to understand that them living their best, most grounded, happiest and balanced life is the best way to serve the students that are entrusted to their care.
I share my experiences of being one of the students who "slipped through the cracks" with respect to everything besides academics, to remind teachers and administrators the power that they have to truly develop the whole child through significant interventions as well as small interactions.
You can expect to leave my presentations with a sense of purpose, of excitement, energy, and focus on serving at your absolute best!

Caliph's work with students as a bullying prevention, substance abuse and mental health speaker helps him draw parallels between his life and what students are currently experiencing, and provide educators with insight into what's happening in students lives and how every employee can make a difference. All of his speeches can be tailored to to his specific audience and adjusted to be congruent with event goals and outcomes.
It Can't Happen Without You!
In this speech, Caliph uses the metaphor of the "educational ecosystem" to help your district staff understand that each and every one of them is absolutely necessary to meet the goals of the district and serve your students to the best of their ability.
Caliph also speaks to the ability that you have to impact the lives of every single student you come across. He talks about the good and bad of his educational experience, as he navigated school while dealing with drug addiction, depression and addiction at home, emotional abuse, bullying, and his own depression.
He helps each person understand that by having a vision for their life and the year, cultivating an internal dialogue or mantra that supports that vision, and understanding the value of their contribution, that they can bring their "whole self" to work every day. He also provides tips for staying motivated, overcoming stress, and self-care that will give the audience practical tools for maintaining the right service-based mindset all year long.
District staff will leave feeling empowered to make a difference in the life of their students, with a sense of greater self-worth and significance, and finally an understanding that their job--no matter how small--is absolutely CRUCIAL to serving every single student.

In Service To ExcellenceThis speech helps educators connect with their purpose, discover their worth, and raise their standards for bringing their best selves to school.
Working education is hugely challenging but extremely rewarding. However, we know burn out is an issue, as is maintaining a sense of positivity and possibility throughout the year. In this speech, Caliph talks out how to maintain that momentum by getting grounded in an understanding of the why for becoming more, and knowing what is special about you that allows you to make a difference every single day. The audience will learn the value of identifying and developing their skill set in order to better serve their students and their campus; they will understand their big, emotional why for persevering through the inevitable challenges; and they will leave inspired to serve others at a high level. |
Don't Miss the SignsIn this speech, Caliph discusses his falling into drug addiction as a student, and the experiences he had at school that could have helped to save him from addiction and depression.
Caliph chronicles the home life that lead to his need to escape from reality, the examples that lead him to turn to drugs and the process by which his reliance on drugs grew. He discusses his experiences at school and the various opportunities teachers, counselors, and principals had to intervene in his life and help him with his addictions...that were all over looked. In this speech he challenges educators to understand the signs of potential drug use and addiction, but also take action when these situations arise, understanding that they may be the only hope that that child has to get help with addiction and depression and avoid a life of addiction, or worse, an overdose. |
Workshops
Leading On PurposeA workshop for leaders on defining a vision for their campus, creating a consistent inner voice, and understanding the value of their success.
How do you get everyone sharing a single vision, speaking the same language, and understanding the value of playing their crucial role on campus? Well, it all starts with you.
In this workshop, we will uncover the biggest goals you can imagine for your campus, create the inner voice you must cultivate to convince yourself and your team this is possible, and create an understanding of what meeting this goal means that allows you to overcome the challenges that you will face along the way. |
Restoring The Bully/iedA restorative practices workshop on understanding the causes behind bullying and restoring the hope of "the bully" and the bullied.
In this workshop Caliph shares his insights and data on the causes of bullying and how schools can best serve students who are being bullied and students who are engaging in bullying.
Participants will learn the three questions we must ask about every student to assess how to best serve them, and also the three lessons we must teach every student in order to foster their restoration to healthy, well-functioning kids--or help them achieve that for the very first time. |
Live Free, Die OldA substance abuse prevention workshop to help teachers, administrators understand how to communicate the risks of drugs to teens.
The use of substances causes short-term gains but long-term pain. Teens are generally short-sighted in their thinking and don't understand of the reasons behind their behavior or the the consequences of their actions.
In this workshop, Caliph will share the strategies and tactics I use to communicate with teens about the dangers of substance abuse, the key questions to consider when having these conversations, and strategies to help teens see a future worth fighting for. |
