The fear of failure keeps us from attempting many things that we would try if we knew our success was certain.
We doubt our ability to get the job done. We think about the consequence of failure. We obsess over the ridicule we might face. We decide to stay home.
I know the feeling. When I started on this journey, it took me months to convince myself that my story and my experience mattered. And it took me even longer to see that I could be successful as a speaker and a coach.
I feared what people might say—that they might think I was throwing away my education, or walking away from an opportunity to do something amazing to take a chance on a brand new dream. And I thought about what a waste it would be if it didn't work.
But finally I got the guts to do it. And now, it's happening.
I learned, through my development, how to ensure my success. And I’ve followed this advice every since.
So, how do you make your success a certainty? Well, it’s quite simple.
Your success is certain the moment you are certain that you’ll never give up!
When you decide that you MUST achieve your goals, no matter what odds you face, you commit to action no matter how long it takes. If you know you’ll never give up, then your setbacks don’t impact you. Your plan not working means that you change plans, not that you give up on the dream. You know that with persistence, you will find a way.
Ultimately, you control your chances of success. Everything you need is within you. And it all starts with your mindset. "For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he."
So go ahead, act as if your success is guaranteed.
As soon as you do, it truly will be.
